“The Future of Lobbying” The issue of lobbying politicians has risen up the public agenda over the past year. In January, the Public Administration Select Committee published its report, Lobbying: Access and influence in Whitehall, which recommended a common code of conduct for lobbyists, greater transparency and stronger rules to govern the "revolving door" between Government and the business world. The debate is active too at the EU level, as the European Commission considers revising its register of lobbyists and interest representatives to tighten rules on financial disclosure and merging with the European Parliamentary register of lobbyists, which is currently separate. In response to this lobbying debate, Burson-Marsteller has now launched its own survey, A Guide to Effective Lobbying in Europe, and invites you to join an esteemed cross-party panel of politicians and experts to discuss the future of this industry in Britain, Brussels and beyond.
